New year, new skill?

The spring term of adult learning courses will begin this month, with enrolment sessions starting from today (Monday).

The council’s community learning team eagerly await hearing from those interested in enrolling on a course this year.

Councillor Puja Bedi, lead member for education and children’s services, said: “Feedback we get from the courses is fantastic. Residents can pick up new skills, improve on existing ones and also earn qualifications which can enhance their job prospects and look great on their CVs.

“There is bound to be something for everyone, whether that be maths and English skills, digital skills and IT, cookery, sewing, employability courses or wellbeing courses, talk to the team to find out more.”

To enrol on a course, residents can attend an assessment session with the team. They can go along to The Curve, Slough, on any of these dates, with no need to book an appointment.
• Monday 8 January - 9.30am-4pm
• Tuesday 9 January - 2-7pm
• Wednesday 10 January – 10am-4pm
Courses start week commencing 15 January.

The community learning team is also available Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm at the learning advice point at The Curve to help with course queries.

Find a full list of courses, enrolment criteria and costs, visit web enrol and visit the East Berkshire Learning and Skills on Facebook for up to date information.
