House Burglary in Kidlington

Alert message sent 06/11/2017 19:06:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This afternoon has seen another burglary in Kidlington. The house is on Oxford Road, near the Sainsbury's end, and was entered by smashing the glass in the back door to access the key in the lock on the inside. After an untidy search, the offender(s) were disturbed by a vigilant neighbour who heard the noise, went to investigate and called 999. The offender(s) weren't seen and left empty handed. This happened at 1.30pm.
Please continue to look out for your neighbours, report any suspicious activity on 101 and report offenders committing crime on 999. Jot down the number plate if you are not happy with a vehicle.
Consider keeping your keys near your doors but out of sight - you still need to get out in the event of a fire, but mine are hung on a hook near the door so they can't be seen from the outside.
In response to the recent burglary rise TVP have increased patrols - both uniformed and plain clothes (you won't always see us). Dwelling burglaries are one of the top priorities for the policing area and we will continue to do all we can to prevent and detect them.
