Appeal for witnesses following incidents of arson

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a series of incidents of arson in Lower Earley.

The incidents took place between Tuesday 28 May and Sunday 9 June and included:

A bin fire on Elm Road on 29/5, at around 1am.
An incident on Nutmeg Close on 8/6, sometime between midnight and 2pm, where an estate agent board was set alight.

An incident took place on Cinnamon Close on 9/6, at around 2am, where a bed mattress was set alight.

A fire on open space between Beaconsfield Way and Elms Lane on 9/6, at around 1am.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Howard Rose from the Wokingham West Neighbourhood team at Loddon Valley police station, said: “We take these incidents very seriously and have increased patrols in the area. 

"I am appealing for any witnesses who were in these areas at the time and may have seen or heard anything unusual to come forward.

“Anyone with information should contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference 43190160351.

“If you see or hear anything unusual, please contact Thames Valley Police by reporting online or calling 101. If a crime is in progress, you should always dial 999.”
