Appeal for witnesses following suspicious incident in Reading

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a suspicious incident.

Police received a report stating that at approximately 7.40pm on Sunday (3/1) two men were seen in near the junction of Beresford Road and Oxford Road.

The first man is described as black, 6ft tall, wearing a knee-length Puffa-style jacket.

He was with another man who is described as white, wearing a grey gilet with a black hood.

The first man was seen waving his arms around and shouting. A member of the public then saw what appeared to be the white man striking the other man.

Immediately after the incident the first man ran along Beresford Road towards Oxford Road. The second man ran along Catherine Street in the direction of the town centre.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for information to establish the circumstances.
