DATA UPDATE

Alert message sent 20/03/2021 15:40:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

I’m Geoff Chown, the Area Representative and Multi-Scheme-Administrator for Neighbourhood Watch in South Oxfordshire & Vale.  As fellow volunteers a few of us are trying to do what should have been done a long time ago, which is to check if schemes are still active, and if so to ensure they are ‘mapped’
You may or may not be aware of www.ourwatch.org.uk which is the national neighbourhood watch database.  One of the things people can do there is to search for a nearby scheme just by entering their postcode, and then to contact the person who runs the scheme.  Co-ordinators can also manage their schemes a little by logging into that site from their registered email address.    Most schemes are not recorded, so people can’t find them – and in the process we’d like to fix that.
You are listed as being a Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator but with no scheme registered or mapped, so we need to ask:
Are you still running an active scheme? Yes
If so, we need to register and map your scheme.  I can help you with this if you have one.   Just tell me the area you cover.
Do you agree to abide by the national NW Ethics policy? Yes
Please could you confirm to me by close of play Thursday 25th March please?   We need all three in place for co-ordinators now, as part of our 2021 data cleansing and refresh.   We can help you and it’s not onerous to do.
Thanks for helping with this and for all you do.
