Appeal for witnesses following attempted dog theft in Hyde Heath

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an incident in Brays Lane.

At approximately 5.30pm on Friday 14 May, a child walking a dog was approached by a man who unclipped the dog’s lead from the collar. Both the dog and the child ran off and fortunately the dog was not taken. The man is described as a white man in his late twenties wearing a black fleece and jeans. He is believed to have left in a large black van. 

Incidents like this are fortunately rare in the Thames Valley however we would urge dog walkers and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to us as soon as possible.

Officers are thoroughly investigating the circumstances of this incident and are keen to hear from anyone who may have any dash-cam or doorbell camera footage from the early evening of Friday 14 May.
