Alert message sent 05/08/2022 10:57:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police continues to investigate an assault in Newbury.
At around 7.45pm on 5 July 2022 a man in his seventies has been approached from behind by a boy believed to be in his teens, at the entrance of Sainsbury’s in Hectors Way, Newbury.
The boy is reported to have kicked the man from behind, who has then fallen to the floor causing him to fracture his hip. The victim attended hospital but has since been discharged.
Nothing was stolen from the victim during the assault.
A CCTV appeal that was issued on 4 August has been removed and we are no longer appealing for the public’s help in tracing the person in the image.
Our investigation into the assault continues and would like to thank members of the public who provided information.
