Appeal for witnesses following theft and assault - Faringdon

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident of theft and an assault in Faringdon.

Between 4.20pm and 4.42pm on Thursday (14/5), a man stole a bag of products from the Aldi Store in Henry Blake Way, Faringdon. A member of staff who attempted to prevent him from leaving the store received an injury to his hand, but did not require hospital treatment.

The offender is described as a white man in his late twenties, 6ft 1ins tall, with very short brown hair. He was wearing black cargo trousers, a navy blue t-shirt, black trainers with a white sole and had framed glasses. He was also carrying a carrier bag.

Investigating officer PC Edward Dodd, based at Abingdon police station, said: “There were a number of people in the store at this time and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who recognises the description of the offender to get in touch.
