Appeal for witnesses following incident of criminal damage in Oxford

At around 2.20pm on Wednesday 10 March a fight broke out between two men in Newman Road, between the junction with Oxford Road and Cardinal Close. During the fight one of the men is believed to have been armed with a plank of wood and the other man is believed to have punched the rear windscreen of a car nearby.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Alder, based at Cowley police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident and anyone in the area who has CCTV or doorbell camera footage from around the time of the incident. Please review your footage to see whether you have captured the incident or anything you believe may assist with our investigation.

“If you have any information that could help with this investigation, please contact us using our online form or call 101, quoting reference number 43210100630.

A 38-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault.
A 42-year-old man from Abingdon was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and affray.
Both men have been released under investigation.
