Appeal for specific witness following assault in Oxford

At around 6.45pm on Monday 8 March, the victim a 74-year-old man, was walking along Banbury Road, Oxford near to the junction with Thorncliffe Road when he met two unknown men on the pavement, one was pushing a bicycle.

The man pushing the bicycle kicked the victim twice in the ankles causing bruising and swelling and also shouted verbal abuse.

The offender pushing the bicycle is described as a man with an olive complexion, in his early to mid twenties, approximately 6ft tall with a slight black beard and slim build. He was wearing dark clothing.

We are keen to speak to a woman who spoke to the victim to check he was ok immediately after the assault near to the pedestrian crossing by Oakthorpe Road. If you think this could be you, please contact us if you can help with the investigation.
