Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation.

At around 5.11am today (17/6) officers were called to an address in Lytton Road, Cowley.

On attendance officers found a woman inside the property who had died. A man was also found with serious injuries. He has been taken to hospital where he remains at this time.

Detective Superintendent Ian Hunter, head of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “This morning we have launched a murder investigation as sadly a woman has died.

“We are in the very early stages of our investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

“Members of the public will see an increased police presence whilst we continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

“We would ask anyone with concerns to please speak to one of our officers.”
